The following is my remembrance of one of my musical heroes who passed away on Christmas morning. For those of you that don’t follow bluegrass music, Tony Rice was one of the most influential acoustic guitar players in history. THE most influential to ever play bluegrass. He was a great singer, bandleader, producer, and arranger as well. I was blessed to live during his time, and most especially to have been able to create music with him in many different situations.

Not gonna lie. This was hard to whittle down to 3 books, but here's my 3 favorite books from the last half of this year. . .
One of my favorite pursuits is waterfowl hunting. There's so many things about it that I love. The birds, the dogs, the shotguns, the scenery. And one of the best parts is the camaraderie. Whether it be in a 5-star lodge or around a fire ring next to a tractor shed, the friendships and laughter are a true treasure. Duck hunters are famous for recounting the morning's hunt over a libation in the evening, so in honor of Duck Season 20-21, I decided to come up with my own cocktail for the occasion.Mallard Curl1&1/2 oz Pritchard's Sweet Lucy liqueur3/4 oz Campari1/2 oz Cognac3 dashes Grapefruit BittersCombine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and stir.
