Hey everybody! Thanks for checking in. I’m going to share another recipe for the crockpot using a sirloin tip roast. You can do this with any of our roasts - we offer sirloin tip roasts, Chuck arm roasts and Chuck roasts - and I did ours for this week with a sirloin tip roast because we had one that needed to be used, in all honesty.

True confession - I don’t use my crockpot too much. We do more grilling and smoking, but sometimes you just need to plug something in first thing in the morning and come back to dinner in the evening. Even though Barry and I both work around the farm there are days we’re barely inside. Today Marshall had an orthodontist appointment, then school, then I had an appointment with the director at the local soup kitchen and then a meeting for a grant. Barry had all kinds of farm work and an off farm agriculture meeting from 5-7. And the farm chores, including 500 sweet babies we just got Friday. . . So we needed the crockpot today! Here’s my recipe for our sirloin tip roast.

Sirloin Tip Roast

1 Bales Farms sirloin tip roast, averaging 2.2 pounds

1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 can lager beer OR 12 ounces beef or chicken broth

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

salt and pepper to taste

Okay. Y’all ready? Dump all the liquid in the crockpot as stir. Add the roast and turn the crockpot on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5.

When the roast is done it will be fork tender and fall off the bone. Shred it and drizzle the juice over it. Serve it on hoagies, nachos, salads, sandwiches or anything else you like.

I served it tonight on hoagie rolls with a horseradish sauce and provolone cheese melted on the sandwich. The boys loved it!

And I loved that I didn’t have to sear anything this morning. We were really running around today and I needed every minute! It’s so so easy.
